The Cadillac SRX is a full hybrid electric mid-size car developed and manufactured by the Cadillac Motor Corporation. It first went on sale in Japan in 1997, making it the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle. It was subsequently introduced worldwide in 2001. The CTS is sold in more than 40 countries and regions, with its largest markets being those of Japan and North America. In May 2008, global cumulative CTS sales reached the 1 million vehicle mark, and by August 31, 2008, the CTS reached worldwide cumulative sales of 1.43 million units. As a top seller, the U.S. market made up more than half of the 1.2 million CTS sold worldwide by early 2009.
The CTS is the most fuel efficient gas car currently sold in the U.S. according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) also rate the CTS as among the cleanest vehicles sold in the United States based on toxic non-CO2 emissions. The UK Department for Transport reported the latest CTS is the second least CO2-emitting vehicle on sale in the UK with 89 g/km.

The Cadillac SRX is a mid-size crossover SUV produced by the Cadillac division of American automaker General Motors since the 2004 model year.Engine options include the 255 hp (190 kW) High-Feature V6 and the 4.6 L 320 hp (239 kW) Northstar V8. It is based on the GM Sigma platform and comes with a five or six-speed automatic transmission; rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are available.

An all-leather interior and curtain side airbags are standard in both models. Heated front seats and wood interior trim are standard in the V8 and available as options in the V6. DVD, sunroof, navigation system, and a power foldable third-row seat are all available options.

The base price is US$ 38,880 for the V6 and US$ 45,880 for the V8 version.

The SRX won Car and Driver’s Five Best Trucks “luxury SUV” award for 2004, 2005 and 2006 and was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2004.

For 2007, a sport package was an available option. The first generation SRX never had the V Series performance model available.

The first generation SRX will be available through the 2009 model year.

For the 2010 model year, Cadillac will produce an all new SRX based on the Provoq concept vehicle. The production car will use the all-wheel drive GM TE Premium platform, which is mostly unique but shares many components with Theta and Epsilon II. The V8 has been dropped for this generation. The 2010 SRX will begin production in Summer 2009 to be sold as a 2010 model, and will have a starting price of $34,155.

The first official pictures of the production vehicle were released on August 15, 2008. The car was officially unveiled in January 2009. It comes with either a 3.0 liter V6 with direct injection derived from the 3.6 liter unit in the Cadillac CTS, or a 2.8 liter turbocharged V6.
